Where You'll Stay
At YWAM Asheville, DTS and SOMD students live in homes located about 20 minutes west of downtown Asheville. Each bedroom is set up in a dorm-style arrangement, with bunk beds, dressers, and shared bathrooms. These cozy homes are where you’ll return each evening after lectures or ministry: places to rest, enjoy community, and spend your weekends.
Each home includes a kitchen, dining room, shared common areas, and outdoor spaces, along with access to a shared fire pit. The homes are nestled in a beautiful, forested area with plenty of opportunities for walking and enjoying nature.

Housing FAQ
Can I have my own room?
Short answer: No. DTS students don’t have private rooms.
Long answer: Community living is a core value of YWAM and a huge part of the DTS experience. Sharing a room creates space for discipleship, personal growth, and deep friendships in ways that living alone just can’t. Some of the most meaningful moments of DTS happen in everyday, shared-life rhythms—late-night conversations, praying together, and learning how to love others well.
Practically speaking, our facilities are set up for shared rooms, and we’re not able to offer private rooms for students.
Will I be able to store stuff?
Storage space at YWAM Asheville is tight! We ask that you bring only what you'll need for your time with us, and leave all nonessentials at home. You will have space to store your suitcase, limited closet/dresser space, and some surface area in your dorm room.
Who has access to student housing?
YWAM Asheville takes the security of our staff and students seriously. Only staff and students will have access to housing, and we ask that you check with staff before having day guests. Curfews are in place for multiple reasons, one of which being we need to be able to lock and secure our doors for safety each night. Our neighborhood is very safe, but we ask that students respect these policies for the safety of everyone.
What's nearby student housing?
Within a 10-minute drive of student housing are 2 grocery stores, a really great coffee shop, a YMCA, and a few restaurants.
What about laundry?
Students are asked to do their laundry at a nearby laundromat. Our laundry facilities are for staff only. Trips to the laundrymat will be taken each weekend.
